An individual claiming to be the inventor of bitcoin, known as Satoshi Nakamoto, has been ruled out by a judge at London’s High Court. The Australian computer scientist, Craig Wright, has long asserted that he authored a white paper in 2008 under the pseudonym. The Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) took Wright to court to prevent him from suing bitcoin developers and to establish that he is not Satoshi. The judge stated that the evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that Wright is not Satoshi and did not adopt the pseudonym during the specified period. COPA hailed the ruling as a victory for developers and the open-source community.
